Victorian Memorial Hair Buckle Ring 15k Gold

This antique Victorian buckle memorial ring was handcrafted in England in 1895. It begins at the top as a beautifully engraved 15 karat gold band with a traditional buckle motif that in turn is accented with delicately hand engraved braided hair motif. This transitions seamlessly into a band inset with an intricately woven braid of hair, showing off the spectacular skill and craftsmanship the Victorians dedicated to honoring those who had passed on before them. It has been fully hallmarked as it bears a maker's mark of "SP&Co.", the gold purity marks of ".625" and “15” for 15 karat gold, the anchor mark for Birmingham, and the date letter “V” for 1895. This ring weighs 1.5 grams and is a size 5.25. The ring width is 4.2 mm all the way around the ring and it sits 1 mm off the finger.

Versatile, historical, and everything a woman of discerning taste needs on her finger!

A note from Victoria: While this is a ring which could certainly be worn, care should be taken to keep it dry to protect the inlaid woven hair in the band.
