Those Victorians were such sentimental creatures, Ivy for ‘I cling to thee’, Lily of the Valley for ‘Return of Happiness’ and maybe the best of all, the Forget-me-not flower for ’True love, faithfulness and Remembrance’.
This fabulous Victorian turquoise and diamond ring was handcrafted in Birmingham, England in 1866. It features a forget-me-not flower motif made up of six cabochon cut turquoises, set in an elegant floral mount that flow into a beautifully hand engraved band. Hand crafted of 12k gold, the ring weighs 1.3 grams and is a size 5.75. The ring face measures 9.2 x 9.0 x 4.1 mm, and the inside of the band bears a full set of English hallmarks that include the the gold purity marks “12ct” and ".5", the anchor for Birmingham, the letter date "R" for 1866 as well as a maker's mark, "B.G".
