This late Art Deco era ring is the essence of devine simplicity. Often times rings like this one were custom made around a trinket that was purchase overseas and brought back to the UK. One can imagine the 1920s adventurer picking up this wonderful slice of carved jade on a trip to the Orient and bringing it back to be set for his sweetheart.
This ring features an oval of floral carved jade which measures 19.5x12.7x1.6 mm, it is set into a simple mounting of 9 karat white gold. It is hallmarked with ‘9ct’ for the gold content. This hand crafted ring was made in the late 20s or early 30s. The ring measures 19.5 north to south and 14.1 mm across, it sits 4 mm off the finger and narrows to 2 mm at the back of the band. This ring is a size 6.25 and weighs 2.5 grams.
