Vintage Art Deco Marcasite Silver Bracelet

People have been complaining lately about January having 74 days, saying that the month seems to drag on forever. Alas, for me it’s not January but my beloved birth month of February that seems to go on and on. The thrill of the holidays has worn all the way off, the last of the lights and decorations long taken down and packed away. The days are short and the nights are cold and all the fresh and lovely green things have yet to pierce the earth. This is the time when I need a little sparkle in my life. A bracelet like this one is the perfect antidote to gray days and long nights, it carries its own shining light, amplifying and bouncing around any little glimmer of brightness. Yes, sparkle that rides around with you all day is truly the perfect antidote to the winter blahs.

This vintage, late Art Deco bracelet is set with about a gazillion sparkling faceted marcasite gems (okay, not a gazillion, please forgive me, I didn’t count them all) in shiny sterling silver. The bracelet is 7 inches long and just over an inch wide (22.3 mm), it closes with a hidden clasp and has a safety chain for added security. It is marked to the reverse with ’.925’ for sterling silver and it weighs 29.7 grams. Made in England around 1930.
