Crafted in London in 1901, this five-stone ring is set in 18k gold and hallmarked with the crown, “18,” the leopard head for London, and the date letter “f.” The three diamonds weigh a combined .28 carats: one at 3.5 x 3.5 x 1.8 mm, one at 3 x 3 x 1.8 mm, and one at 2.3 x 2.3 x 1.3 mm. Two lively rubies, together .12 carats, each measure 2.5 x 2.5 x 1.3 mm. The face of the ring measures 5.6 mm north to south, 17 mm across, and rises 3.7 mm off the finger; and the band width tapers to 2 mm in the back. It weighs 3.32 grams and is currently a US size 7.5.

A piece meant to be worn and admired daily, it carries with it the romantic ideals of the Edwardian era, still shining more than a century later.
