Antique Silver Double Sided Mary and Jesus Medallion Pendant Medal

This fantastic silver medal shows the Virgin Mary on on one side surrounded by the words: Regina. Advocata. et. Mater, which translates from Latin as “Queen, Advocate and Mother”. On the other side it showcases Jesus holding a Sacred Heart. The heart is topped by a cross and crown of thorns and encircled in flames, symbolizing Christ’s redemption of humanity, the burning love he has for all mankind and his divine light that outshines all the darkness of this world.
Surrounding the Christ figure are the words: Sodalitas. Mariana. Primae. Primariae. Romanae. Aggregata, which translates from Latin as “The Marian Society of the First Roman Primary Aggregate”. Founded in 1563 by a young Belgian Jesuit named Jean Louis, the Sodality of Marian was the earliest and largest of the Catholic Marian movement which aimed to spread devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, to honor her Immaculate Conception and to pray for the souls in purgatory and undertake a variety of apostolic works.
This wonderful medallion was hand crafted in sterling silver and is marked with ‘Silver’ and a makers mark ‘B O & W’, it also has a signature that I wasn’t able to make out. The pendant is a bit on the larger side and measures 41 mm from to top bottom including the bale and 32.5 mm across at the widest point, it weighs 15.1 grams. I think that this one was made in England, but I’m not certain as to the date, perhaps around 1920?
