There is something deeply confident about an antique belcher ring like this, the way the diamond sits low and secure, cradled by gold that feels sculpted rather than assembled. Handcrafted in England around 1920, this antique diamond belcher ring is made of solid 18 karat gold and is fully hallmarked with “18k,” a crown, “750,” and the maker’s mark “SFJ,” with the town mark and date letter softened by time. I've consulted with others on this diamond and no one really knows the name for this cut, it's very usual with a high top and interesting facets around the crown, due to it's unusual cut, it's difficult to estimate a carat weighs, but I am going with about 0.80 carats, it measures 5 by 5 by 4.9 millimeters. The ring measures 8 millimeters north to south, 18 millimeters across, and sits 5.8 millimeters off the finger, with a band width of 2.9 millimeters at the back. It weighs 5.9 grams and is a US size 7.
