This necklace feels like something lifted from the pages of a fairy tale, a golden branch unfurling across the throat, adorned with tiny orbs of dewdrop light. Its frame, shaped with the flowing elegance typical of the Art Nouveau era, curves in openwork arcs that seem to breathe and flutter like leaves in a gentle breeze. Nestled among the finely chased foliage are seven luminous pearls, each one a little moon captured at dawn, culminating in a single teardrop suspended at the tip, as if the necklace itself is caught mid-sigh.
Handcrafted in France around 1900, the pendant is made in 18 karat gold and bears the eagle’s head hallmark. It is set with seven natural pearls and comes on its original gold chain, bringing the total length to 16.25 inches. The pendant itself measures 40 mm tall, including the pearl drop, and 36.3 mm wide. The piece weighs 5.7 grams.
This is the kind of necklace one imagines being gifted on a summer evening, an heirloom of love and quiet splendor, made to last generations and worn with the grace of memory.
