There’s a tenderness to this pendant, a kind of sun-warmed bloom preserved from a summer long past. Each lobe of its golden floral frame cradles a luminous pearl like a drop of morning dew, circling the vibrant turquoise center, a stone veined like stormy sky over calm waters. It feels like something worn at a garden party beneath a wide hat and a secret smile, quietly catching the eye and inviting the imagination.
Handcrafted around 1890, this late Victorian pendant is rendered in 15 karat gold and set with a striking turquoise cabochon measuring 13.5 x 8 x 5.4 mm. It is surrounded by a halo of 48 pearls, eight approximately 3.2 mm and forty ranging from 0.5 to 1 mm. The pendant measures 32 mm tall by 24 mm across and 7.5 mm deep, and it weighs 5.4 grams. Hallmarked 15CT with a maker’s mark of “AH.”
This is a pendant to wear when you want to feel like poetry, when you want to be remembered, or when you simply want to carry a piece of the 19th century against your skin.
