Two rosy rubies and a bright diamond, held close in warm gold, make a lovely little declaration of affection. Dating to around 1900, this Victorian three stone ring has a pleasingly substantial simplicity, its smooth gold band tapering gently from a broad face to a slender back. The stones sit within diamond shaped settings, their pointed outlines adding a crisp geometric detail to the softly rounded gold.
At the center, a diamond weighing approximately 0.23 carats measures 3.6 by 3 by 2.3 millimeters, flanked by two rubies with a combined weight of approximately 0.22 carats, each measuring 3.3 by 2.7 by 1.5 millimeters. Their rich pinkish red brings a beautiful warmth to the diamond’s sparkle. Hallmarked “18 CT” for 18 karat gold, the ring weighs 3.7 grams and is a US size 7.75. The face of the ring measures 4.7 millimeters north to south and 18 millimeters across, rising 3 millimeters off the finger, with a band width of 2 millimeters at the back.
