Handcrafted in about 1880, this silver locket is beautifully embossed with a floral and bird motif and opens to reveal well-preserved interiors lined in rich red fabric on both sides, complete with original frames. The locket measures 55 millimeters north to south, 34.5 millimeters across, and 11.5 millimeters in depth. It hangs from a substantial 18 inch silver collar composed of articulated links measuring 14.5 millimeters north to south and 5.2 millimeters in depth. Together, the necklace and locket weigh 44.97 grams. There are no visible marks.
