Dating to 1900, this Victorian 18 karat gold ring pairs a broad, gently curved face with beautifully scrolled shoulders. A diamond weighing approximately 0.03 carats sits at the center of an engraved eight pointed star, its long rays spreading across the polished gold. The curling shoulder details lend a graceful flourish to the substantial band. The face of the ring measures 6 millimeters north to south and 17 millimeters across, with a band width of 3 millimeters at the back. It weighs 3.4 grams and is a US size 4.5. Inside are a crown and “18” for 18 karat gold, the Birmingham anchor, the date letter “a” for 1900, and the maker’s mark “AI.”
