Whenever I talk about antique jewelry, I like to refer to it as 'wearable art', no where is this more clearly seen than with English Victorian silver jewelry. Each bangle, collar, earring, locket, was lovingly and elaborately made, with gold overlay, with fantastic engraving, with embossed designs, one piece more stunningly detailed than the next.
This fabulous bangle was hand crafted in England around 1880. It has a lovely soft bloomed finish and is decorated with richly detailed engraving and bits of green and rose gold washed accents. This very pretty piece measures 32.7 mm north to south and is 2.5 mm thick, it will comfortably fit a wrist of up to 7 inches and weighs 38 grams. This beautiful bangle is just right on the front but does have a small dent on the backside. This unmarked bangle tests as sterling silver.
