I remember the old cold days, when the snow would fall all winter long and the flakes were like magic as each one landed like glitter on the ground. I’d dress up in reds and greens to match the season. I’d wear this necklace. I’d time myself so that when he walked beneath the mistletoe I conveniently would, too. He never did catch on, thought it was complete coincidence. Those cold days were cozy, filled with sweaters and hot coffee. Thank goodness they’re right around the corner again.
This elegant antique necklace was handcrafted around 1900. It’s an enameled wreath decorated with six rose cuts diamonds and a drop pearl, set in 14 karat gold, with a 9-karat gold chain. The chain measures 21.25 inches in length. Overall, this piece weighs 6.9 grams. The pendant portion measures 26 x 27 mm. It bears no marks and has been acid tested. I’m not certain where this pendant was made, but I’m sure that the chain is English. I suspect that the drop was converted from a brooch, it’s beautifully done.
Rose cut diamonds with pearl and green leaves, these are a few of my favorite things.
