Art Deco Sapphire Diamond Target Ring Platinum Stunning

$ 6,528.00 $ 7,680.00

Today you might hear a ring like this one called a ‘halo’ ring, but back in the early part of the 20th Century when this ring was made, they called them Target rings for their resemblance to a target or dart board. This Art Deco era target ring has a fabulous bright step cut sapphire as its juicy bullseye!

This hand crafted ring was made around 1920 in platinum. The ring is set with two concentric rings of old European mine cut diamonds, the diamonds are 32 in all and add up to a sparkly 1.0 carats in total weight. At the center of this ring is a bright blue sapphire which measures 6x4x3.2 and weighs about 0.80 carats. This gorgeous ring has no hallmarks, it appears to have been resized at some point in its life and perhaps has lost its hallmarks due to this? If I was guessing, I would say that it’s French in origin. We’ve acid tested it to verify the metal content. This size 7.75 ring weighs 3.5 grams. The face of this ring measures 14 mm north to south and 14 mm across, it sits 4.5 mm off the hand and narrows to 1.3 mm at the back of the band.
