I was strolling through the narrow cobblestoned streets just north of Paris, in a small town not used to strangers. I found a sandwich shop and in my best broken French ordered ‘un sandwich avec jambon et fromage’ and a glass of Rosé. The man I ordered from was kind, he moved slowly, enjoying the summer’s heat. The small patio overlooked a valley of clay roofed houses and intertwining streets. I found a table and sat. As I held onto the stem of the clear glass, my bracelet caught the sun’s light, making it glow like a cave of wonders. I sipped the wine, tasting the notes of strawberry and basil, letting the flavors linger on my tongue. I noticed how my wrist looked like the sun itself, giving life to earth, making the heavens envious. I also noticed the view and the toughness of my baguette sandwich, and how the wine gave tastes to the bread that could only be found here, right here, in this place, in this moment.

Opals are the birthstone of October but should be worn year-round, I mean, the Romans once believed that opals were the most powerful stone of them all.

Even though this ring is over 100 years old, it’s perfect for a recent trend, ring stacking! It’s sleek lines and sparkling gems make it just right either on it’s own or sandwiched between two other 5 stone rings, try it with all diamonds, or pair it with another stone, it’s ready to play with sapphires, opals or even emeralds!
Hand crafted in 18 karat gold, this ring is set with two deep red rubies of wonderful clarity and juicy color, each one weighs approximately .35 carats, for .7 carats together. The rubies sit between three wonderfully bright and sparky diamonds, the center diamond is a round faceted transitional cut with a small open cuelet, it weighs approximately .45 carats, the two side diamonds are slightly different, one is an Old European cut and the other is a transitional cut, the Euro weighs approximately .2 carats, the transitional is approximately .15, for .35 carats total. The ring is marked with English hallmarks for having been made in Birmingham, England of 18k gold and the makers mark ‘A.I’. The date mark is missing, most likely due to being re-sized at some point in it’s life, but it likely dates to about 1900-1910. This ring measures 6.3 mm north to south at the front and 18.2 mm across, it sits 4 mm off the finger; this one is a size 7 US and while it could be re-sized a bit either up or down, it would not be a good candidate for a dramatic re-sizing. He was walking through the shops, searching for something that looked like her. In a small storefront, at garden level, he spotted a stone like no other he’d seen. A hidden gem, a needle in a haystack, that four-leaf clover in a field of daisies. It looked like a blanket of snow over a mountain, each snowflake with its own colorful fire burning, lighting up beneath the sun. It looked like a sunset in Malibu, over the ocean in the West, with rainbow skies and salty air. It looked like her, beautiful at every angle, timeless and everything he was searching for.
