Elizabeth II Australian Coin Band Ring Dated 1971

$ 250.00

This wonderful Silver Aussie Ring, with its crown-like shape and its wide band width, is what I call handsome, even manly. I love a manly piece of jewelry, don’t ask me why. The masculine feel is made more interesting by an elaborate design full of movement and interest celebrating the native wildlife of Australia. A ring with a kangaroo on it? Sign me up!

A curious piece of history, this ring is made of a coin that has been beautifully converted to a fabulous ring. It is dated 1971 and inside the coin are the words “Elizabeth II” and “Australia.” The engraved design is fabulous, as well: a star, a “50” (50 cents, I’m sure) and a kangaroo having a stare-down with a waterfowl, with a background of fronds of native plants. The band width is 10.8 mm, and it is 2.5 mm thick. It weighs 14 grams and is a size 14.

When you find out what this ring is celebrating, let us know. In the meantime, enjoy the compliments and questions when you wear it!
