Holger Fischer Silver Chrysoprase Skonvirke Brooch Pin

$ 780.00

This Holger Fischer, Silver and Chrysoprase brooch is, quite simply, a sumptuous work of art. Holger Fischer was an artist who produced during the Danish Skonvirke Period of jewelry making. "Skonvirke" translates to “beautiful work” and is characterized by intricately hand-wrought silver pieces of curving lines and movement, often set with precious and semi-precious stones. This beautiful brooch is a wonderful example of the period: its abstract and natural shapes flow easily in silver, and the deep green chrysoprase gems complement the floral motif.

Made in Denmark around 1910 by Holger Fischer, this gorgeous brooch has four 4 mm chryoprase stones nestled in silver leaves, and a fifth, with a diameter of 3.5 mm, is set in the shining pendant dangling below. It is stamped with “H.F. 830 S” and tests as silver. This beauty is 62.7 mm from north to south and 61.6 mm wide. It has a depth of 6.2 mm and a weight of 14.1 grams.

Such an organic piece of craftsmanship, this silver and chrysoprase brooch is simply breathtaking.
