Scottish Silver Agate Rutilated Quartz Brooch

Spectacular and truly one of a kind, this 1870's Scottish agate brooch features an amazing rutilated quartz center stone that will excite any lover of Scottish "pebble" jewelry. The depth and intensity of this cabochon cut stone is simply incredible, and it was surely the prized possession of the lucky Scott who had it mounted as the center of this classic cairngorm and agate brooch.

This wonderful and weighty brooch was hand crafted in Britain in about 1865. It tests as sterling silver and weighs 36 grams. This piece measures 47.7 mm north to south and across and is 16.6 mm deep. It is in excellent condition and would make a great addition to any serious collection of Scottish jewelry.
