She heard his motorcycle stop around the corner of the café from where she sat. She could tell something interesting was happening when all the women on the terrace stood up straighter and the men widened their stances. She continued sipping her coffee and reading the paper. The scent of cedar and sugar lingered as he passed by her. Her eyes moved from her paper and into his ocean blue eyes, just for a glimpse. They were bordered by dark brows and handsome features. She didn’t smile, straighten or stare, she just observed. He paused and said, “Nice earrings,” before continuing on his way through to wherever he was going.

Ivy clings, it grows along walls, over stones, up trees, and inches toward the sky, forming a unity with its sturdy base. Jewelry with an ivy motif was given as a representation of fidelity, friendship and eternity during the 1800s. In Britain, ivy was called, “lovestone”, named for the way it clung to stone walls.
These antique French ivy leaf gold earrings were handcrafted around 1890 in 18 karat gold. Each drop earring features a round creamy white pearl at the top with a long drop link chain that leads to an ivy leaf shaped drop dotted with another round pearl. A rose cut diamond can be found at the very top of each earring, adding glimmer to an elegant pair of earrings. Each earring measures 42 x 11 mm and together they weigh 2.1 grams. They bear the eagle head hallmark, indicating they are made in 18 karat gold and they were essayed in Paris.
These earrings have a back to front closure which works just as it sounds. The earring goes through the ear from behind and clips in the front. They are extremely comfortable to wear, but it can take a little time getting used to putting them on. The key is to wiggle the earring instead of trying to just push it through. Don't be surprised if you get hooked on this style of closure once you get used to it!

When you’ve been buying jewelry for as long as I have, you might find that what excites you most is the unusual! When I came across this bespoke French wedding set, I was excited to my toes.
This set of two contains a hand crafted silver stud plaque (to be worn in a button hole) and a matching silver brooch. The stud features a wolf hound in profile sporting a blue collar and was doubtlessly hand crafted as a special order for it’s original groom and the matching brooch shows the same pup with a pink color, made for the bride.
The two pieces are the same size, they measures 28.6 mm across and 19.6 mm top to bottom, tougher they weigh 17.5 grams. This wonderful set is hallmarked with ‘HR’ and “Bte” (short for ‘brevetè’ or ‘patented’) and also with “SGDG” (which is ‘Sans Garantie Du Gouvernement’ which means that the government was not liable for the working of the piece). This French made set tests as silver and dates to about 1860-70.
I offer a 3-5 payment layaway on most items purchased for full retail price, please inquire if you are interested in setting up a layaway. Items ship when payment is complete and items purchased or payments made on layaway are eligible for store credit only.
