There’s something wonderfully tactile about agate with its quiet bands of color, its mossy depths, and its unexpected flashes of rust and green. This bracelet feels like a small collection of landscapes gathered and framed in silver, a sliver of storm sky here, a shard of autumn earth there, a forest-dark green running through the center of another. Each link is a tiny abstract painting, geometric yet organic, the kind of composition only nature could create and only a human hand could set so gracefully. It has the spirit of the 1930s all over it: modern, confident, and a little bit adventurous.
Handcrafted in Birmingham in 1937 in the style of Victorian Scottish jewelry, this sterling silver bracelet features seven agate panels, each measuring approximately 11 x 19 x 3 mm. The bracelet measures 7.25 inches long and weighs 21.6 grams. It carries full English hallmarks: the lion passant for sterling silver, the Birmingham anchor, the date letter "N" for 1937, and the maker’s mark "J.C&S."
Earthy but undeniably elegant, this bracelet brings together the rugged beauty of British agate with the clean lines of late Art Deco design. It’s the perfect piece for someone who loves a little color, a little history, and a touch of the unexpected on their wrist.
